The 79th World Health Assembly concluded with Member States adopting a range of measures addressing antimicrobial resistance, radiation risks and the broader design of international health systems.
Delegates approved an updated Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance for 2026–2036, adopted the first-ever World Health Assembly resolution on Radiation and Health, and agreed a strategy to better align economic policy with health objectives. In addition, Member States committed to establish a joint process to support reforms of the global health architecture, aiming to improve coordination and preparedness across nations.
