European companies in China are reporting tentative signs of improvement after several difficult years, according to a new survey from the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.
The survey found that business confidence remains fragile despite some recovery in indicators such as profitability and growth outlook from last year’s lows. Companies continue to face China’s economic slowdown, intense competition, regulatory uncertainty and barriers to market access.
The chamber said deeper reforms are needed for a meaningful and durable recovery in confidence among European businesses operating in China.
