Investors are awaiting a set of major U.S. economic releases on May 28, 2026, including the second estimate of first-quarter gross domestic product and data on personal consumption expenditures.
The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis is scheduled to publish the second estimate for Q1 2026 GDP, offering an updated reading on the economy’s performance in the first quarter.
Markets will also focus on the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index, the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge, as well as personal income and spending figures. Together, the reports are expected to shape expectations for future Federal Reserve monetary policy decisions.
The data arrive as markets assess whether inflation pressures are easing sufficiently and whether economic activity is holding up, two factors central to the outlook for interest rates.
