Verge Labs launches AI effort to model human disease biology

Verge Labs, formerly Verge Genomics, has launched as a frontier AI lab focused on building generative models of human disease biology.

The company is using a decade of proprietary brain data, including more than 12,000 human brain samples, to develop models intended to predict how patients may respond to therapies for neurological diseases.

The effort is aimed at changing drug discovery and personalized medicine by applying foundation-model techniques to disease biology. The launch places Verge Labs among companies seeking to use AI not only to analyze biomedical data, but also to support decisions about which therapies may work for particular patients.
