Israeli military operations intensified on May 28, 2026, with waves of airstrikes hitting Tyre in southern Lebanon and further strikes reported in Gaza.
The strikes on Tyre reportedly killed at least 14 people and targeted suspected Hezbollah infrastructure. The escalation pushed shelters in nearby Sidon to full capacity, and authorities advised residents of Tyre to move farther north to Beirut.
Israel’s air force also carried out an airstrike on a southern suburb of Beirut, according to the research record.
In Gaza, Israeli strikes the previous day killed at least seven people in Gaza City. Hamas also confirmed the death of its new military wing leader along with members of his family.
The operations marked a simultaneous intensification across two fronts, with southern Lebanon facing repeated airstrikes and Gaza reporting fresh deaths from Israeli attacks.
